eyeglasses clinic
“I never knew that helping people get glasses would be so fun!” Kaylie Beerman, Age 11
“Through working at the Eye Clinic I was taught a great lesson. Many do not have the gift of sight that is so precious. However, providing the gift of sight is not as important as letting others know that ones sight needs to be on Jesus, the ONE who sees beyond our limits… the ONE who sees beyond our imperfections… the ONE who sees beyond our sins. This is the type of sight that we, as humans, must acquire with all of God’s children. Thank you Lord for teaching me the true meaning of sight.” Liliana, L.A., Calif.
church-building
“I was so thrilled to be able to spend a day at the El Carmen church. What a thrill today, (Sabbath) to see the church completed and to know that I helped move some of the block to that sanctuary. God is so GOOD! The two church services were a precious memory, especially the Communion service at Juanitos Dos Church.” Judy P, Kelowna, BC, Canada
“I am the kind of person who doesn’t cry in public, but when I was leaving the El Carmen church, I found myself suppressing tears. I was choking up, sniffling and filling with a longing for those people. They have such drive. They were behind schedule, but the church was up, the roof was on and there were curtains in the windows. The tears in their eyes, men and women alike, their hugs, kisses and love was enough to take my breath away. Not to forget, though, I saw that church in the beginning when there was just a big trench for the footings all the way around, and I saw it raised up in 7 days. Praise God for this heart-warming experience.” Breanna, BC, Canada, age 17
worship and fellowship
“What I really enjoyed about this trip was the happiness, tears, and joy I got to see in their faces.” Salvador, L.A., Calif.
“Aside from cooking with Judy, Hillair, and Gisele, my highlight was the church service at Juanitos Dos, by the banana grove. It was a glimpse of heaven. God Bless!” Ruth, Kelowna, BC, Canada
