Hi,

I'm here at LAX delayed on the last leg of our flight home (to Chico, CA). I am attaching a document with several quotes from some of the participants. There are a few more still to be done.

I have not had the chance to tell you about a serious scare we had on Thursday, our excursion day to the beach. I got stung by what we think was an African bee, and 10 minutes later went into severe shock. Blood pressure dropped to 70/30. I had severe tingling pains from head to toe. They rushed me to a clinic that was only about 200 yards from the resort. My whole system was shutting down. I thought I was going to die, and in fact many die each year from this tropical bee. Thank God that Judy and two other nurses were within a few feet of me when I passed out and they were able to get me to the clinic ASAP. Let me tell you, it was SCARY!!!

But the real story is that ALL of the group gathered around me during this time and were praying in three languages: English, Spanish and French! God intervened. I will praise His Name forever for sparing my life.

The irony of it is that this took place a few hundred yards from the same beach where a Maranatha [volunteer building] team, three years ago, also had an excursion and their youth pastor drowned trying to rescue a couple participants that were in trouble in the rough surf. Our host at our hotel (who belongs to this beach club and made arrangements for us to use the resort and was with us during this outing) was also with the Maranatha group when they experienced the drowning. She thought that I was going to die. She was so shook up that she has been confined to her room for three days with fever and illness.

Must run. They will be calling us to board the plane in a few minutes.

Our love,

Joedy & Judy
