Trusting the Lord through the years
By Floyd Graham

When I committed my life to the Lord as a young man, I did not know what my future would be, but I put my trust in Him to lead me. There were many times when I was thankful for His protection and blessing—even through difficult circumstances.

It was while I was attending church in 1949 that I first met Mildred, and she invited me home for lunch. She was a great cook, and a wonderful friend to many people. Our friendship grew into love and we were married in 1964.

Some years ago, Mildred developed a heart condition that threatened her life. Although it was hard when we realized that her heart was gradually failing, our love continued to grow. Mildred and I often thanked the Lord for his many blessings and for the gift of everlasting life with Him. We decided that regardless of what happened, we would continue to trust the Lord, and that we would do all we could so that others would come to know and trust Him, too.

Before her death in 2003, Mildred and I contacted The Quiet Hour to set up a gift annuity and a trust that will help send evangelism teams to share the gospel with others. It was our hope that many others will find the peace that comes from trusting fully in Jesus Christ. Although I miss her very much, I look forward to the bright day when Jesus will return and we will be with him forever.
