We are all familiar with the idea that in the act of giving we receive more than we thought imaginable. But the best part of giving is the joy of knowing that your gift can make a difference for someone who may not yet know and trust the Lord.
The gift annuity is a simple agreement with two parts: the transfer of an asset from the donor to The Quiet Hour and the signing of a contract in which The Quiet Hour agrees to make payments to the donor for life.
For example, let’s say that you are 80 years old and want to set up a charitable gift annuity with $10,000. The rate you will receive is 8.0 percent. Your income from the gift annuity would be $800 each year for the rest of your life. The specific rate is based on the age of the donor at the time of the gift. Once the gift annuity is established, the rate does not change. Generally, the older you are (up to age 90, where the rate is 11.3 percent), the higher the rate.* You can choose to receive payments monthly, quarterly, or annually.
The specific rate is based on the age of the donor. Some of our donors have found that a charitable gift annuity can significantly increase income. And the benefits don’t end there since part of the income is tax-free. We begin sending you payments immediately and you have the confidence that when you no longer need them your funds will be used to help others learn about Jesus and to trust Him, alone, as their Lord and Savior.
