The Quiet Hour Aids Romanian City

Jeane and Jim Zachary conducted a two-week evangelistic meeting in Botosani, Romania. The church members had just completed construction of a new church building. The pastor and the church board had a burden to reach out to meet the needs of the community.

The evangelistic team was invited to meet with the mayor of the city to discuss ways the church could help the poor people in the city. Three needs were identified. First, the city had a number of street children. Drunken parents were not caring for their children. Second, there were a large number of senior citizens who did not have medical care. And third, there was a need to assist parents with a free child-care program.

The Quiet Hour gave funds to help. Four computers were provided for a training program for children. Funds were provided to help start a feeding program for the street children. The mayor sends 30 children daily to the church for a warm meal. Funds were also provided to outfit a room suitable to operate a medical clinic. Seven medical doctors and 20 other medical personnel are operating a free clinic. The mayor assisted in securing the proper permits for the church.

We praise God for opening doors for the gospel in Romania!
