Greetings.
This only a short one to let you know that my website is http://picasaweb.google.com/Harvey.N.Miller
There are only three pictures in there now, but if all things work well, there will be more as the days go by.
Clock is ticking.
Must pack and get ready to go to airport for midnight flight.

Nicaragua-2
Greetings and salutations.
I am here in my hotel room in Managua, with Internet plugged in from the wall, and will try to send an update without too many errors!
We have much to thank the good Lord for, as we had a safe trip. I had one of the deacons and his wife drive me to the airport in Salt Lake City last night, and they helped me get checked in. They were with me right up to the security check-point.
The plane left at 12:45, and we had a relatively-smooth flight to Atlanta. ATLANTA! What an airport! I thought Dallas-Fort Worth was big. But they tell me Atlanta may be one of the largest in the world.
I deplaned and inquired as to where Floyd Bartling would deplane from, on his way back to Sacramento. I walked, and walked, and walked some more, only to find out that they had changed the gate.
When I confirmed the departure gate, I rode the train (underground) and then even one of the airport go-carts for “invalids and old people.” It was worth the tip I gave the lady.
Lo and behold, Floyd was there in the waiting area, as his “transportation” had to leave early for somewhere. So he was waiting to see if I really would find him.
We had a good visit. He had already eaten, but I was hungry. Went to check a sandwich, but they wanted $6.50, and there was nothing I could eat! So I nibbled on some snacks Frances had prepared and put in my suitcase.
Imagine, just three and a half hours from Salt Lake City to Atlanta! I didn't sleep much, as space was crowded. It was a 757, and all seats occupied.
Of all things, my good friend, Pastor Luis Leonor, showed up, and said he had written to me that we'd be on the same plane! How lovely. We got to juggle seats, and he came up to same row I was in.
Only 3.5 hours to Managua. Picked up luggage, as expected, and were met by conference people and pastors at the exit gate. A group from Kentucky, I think, was also on the plane, but we did not recognize them or get acquainted until after picking up luggage.
I got to ride with “my” pastor, Justo Delgado. He was delighted to know I'd be working with him. The information in ShareHim’s website was not exactly what I interpreted. There will be six churches (some relatively small) meeting with us at the main church in his district that seats 400. Their anticipation is 90 visitors every night; NOT a total of 90 in attendance, as I had anticipated. He said that mid-campaign they will have a mass meeting with participants from all groups in Managua. They have a goal of 1,500 baptisms during these meetings.
Their church has a piano, but no pianist. So guess what I might be doing once in a while. They are excited about the theme song I am suggesting, besides the one they have planned.
The pastor's wife is taking nursing, and will no doubt be able to give health presentations, using the DVD that The Quiet Hour has prepared. That will be great. That, the Jesus video, music, and the “spoken word” will be a good experience for all of us. Please pray the Holy Spirit will guide and direct in all the details that need to be worked out.
Tonight another group arrives, and then one more at midnight, and many more tomorrow.
We're temporarily in a hotel here at least for tonight. I'm not sure if I'll stay here or reside at a private home.
Pastor Delgado told me that this city was demolished by an earthquake in 1936, and many sections have not been rebuilt. The city has 1,500,000 inhabitants. No small village.
I found out that the hotel has Internet access, but I'm not sure yet on all the steps to download some of the 40 pictures I have taken. I did clear the camera, and they are here. But I need to do some editing before putting them in my website.
The hotel here will fix supper for us (about ten or so) and we'll eat at 7:00. They are aware of our vegetarian leanings, etc. I understand that Pastor Leonor has scheduled many meals here for those that stay in Managua. I think I've mentioned that a large contingent will be going to Matagalpa, another big city up the road.
Thanks for your prayers for a safe trip. It will be nice to get to sleep tonight!
God bless you all.
Harvey
