Devil Spirit Leaves in Answer to Prayer A testimony by Sahntiyabhai Kharad, a villager in Leler, Dahod District, Gujarat Reported by Dorothy Watts I am working in Dahod in the government factory. I have only one son and we were a happy family, going every evening to do our pujas in the temple. But then one day a devil spirit possessed my son and everything changed.
My son suffered so much and I could not bear it. I called many witch doctors but they could do nothing. I visited many hospitals and Sadhus. I spent more than three lakhs ($6,000) trying to help my son. Still he was the same. I began to wonder if maybe it was because I had been so cruel to the Christian people. I never allowed any Christian people to come to my house. I hated them so much, and now I began to feel that maybe this was the reason my son was suffering.
One day I called all of the village people and the sarpanch (village president) to my house and told them I wanted to run far away from the village and my land and cattle because I couldn't bear to see my son suffer. I asked them what I should do. They had no answer for me. I told them I had one last hope and that was to ask the Christians to pray for my son. They told me to go and find some Christians in the next village and ask for prayer. So I went to Leler and found the Christian people. They all came and prayed about five hours for my son. After that time my son began to talk to me. I was so amazed because for many months he would not sleep properly. He went without eating most of the time. He refused to eat or to talk to us. So we thought he would die. Now suddenly when the Christians prayed in the name of Jesus Christ my son began to speak to me. It made me so happy. Now my son is fine. Today I firmly believe that Jesus Christ is the true and living God. I ask God to forgive me for giving so much trouble to Christian people. I want Him to take away all of my sins and to forgive me and accept me. I want to follow Him always as my God.
