BREAKING NEWS:
Since recently returning from India, 35 new congregations urgently need a place to worship. And that’s GREAT news!
Dear Quiet Hour friend,
Our recent mission trip to India was true pioneer evangelism — sharing Christ where there was no church presence. At many of the sites, this was the first large-scale evangelism outreach ever. Our teams were able to share the gospel with almost everyone in 25 villages!
Many people received health screenings, and several sites reported miracles of healing. Demons were cast out, and even village leaders were drawn to our message. The crowds grew night after night. People could be seen listening from nearby hills and outside their homes.
In the end, an incredible 1,500 precious souls were won for Christ. Bible workers will continue to share Christ in these villages, and they are already reporting even more requests for baptisms! God is doing a marvelous work.
Gathering up children for Christ
By Jackie Tucker
As Bill and I prepared for the opening meeting, we were told that there might not be many children. To our surprise, 50 children arrived before we saw the first adult! And each night, the number of children coming to our meetings increased. Soon, we had more than 300 children.
These children came from Hindu villages and had no knowledge of Jesus and the Bible. As they heard the story of creation and how Jesus had come to live and die for them — their little hearts were softened. It was exciting to see the change in their behavior and their acceptance of the gospel.
By the time the meetings came to an end, more than half of the children could repeat the Ten Commandments from memory. Other teams also reported large crowds of children. One worker put
it beautifully:
As we visited door-to-door in the village, children were ever-present. Energy oozed from each child as we caravanned down the street. Our growing entourage halted to pray at each home and with nearly every family in the village.
My heart melts to remember these little ones, many whose lives have been changed forever through this work. Just as in the days when Jesus walked the earth, we are carrying on His command:
“Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14 (NKJV)

Amazed to learn
Freedom in Christ really is free
A large portion of the population of India practices the Hindu religion. And in the region where our teams were working, less than 3 in 100 had heard the gospel. We noticed people in the village bringing offerings of food, flowers and incense to their Hindu gods of wood and stone. So many of these people work so hard to earn their salvation! In fact, there is a mountain near the city that is considered very holy. People told us that salvation would be assured if one walks the entire distance around this mountain.
What a privilege it was to share our great news with India’s
people that we don’t have to earn our salvation. Many had a hard time comprehending that Jesus paid for their eternal future on Calvary’s cross!
Bill thought of a unique way to get this point across. He offered a rupee to his interpreter. The interpreter accepted the gift, understanding that he didn’t have to do anything to earn the rupee.
In the end, hundreds of people responded to the gospel message, despite the cultural divide. And between all our mission teams, 1,500 people were baptized as new Christian brothers and sisters. And Bible workers are now preparing many more who live in the country, to be baptized.
God is so good!
After the sowing and reaping ... Keeping!
By Pastor Bill Tucker, President and Speaker
In India, where less than 3 in 100 people are Christian, winning an incredible 1,500 souls for Christ in 13 days is truly precious. But just as freshly cut wheat goes to waste if left behind in the field, so too do we risk losing all we have worked for if we don’t make the effort to KEEP the new believers.
We know from our 70 years of experience sharing Christ in India and around the world that churches falter if they don’t have a building. New believers get discouraged and stop coming.
And right now, 35 newly planted congregations do not have a decent place to worship. They meet under trees, in people’s tiny homes or just out in the open. Some pay to rent a hall, where conditions are poor and unreliable. It’s not unheard of to be forced to cancel a worship service because someone else needs the room!
Our evangelism model of “Seek, Reap, Keep” really works. And as we work to KEEP these new believers by building Prayer Chapels, they will go on to enthusiastically SEEK their neighbors and invite them to their new church. From there, these same congregations will REAP another great harvest!
That’s why we often see congregations double and triple in size once their Prayer Chapel is complete. You can see what a tremendous open door this is to reach India with the gospel. But the time is short before Christ returns. So . . . let’s take that next step!
Evangelism in India
Prayer Chapels for 35 villages needed NOW!
 NOW is the time.
Over the years, we have been blessed to help lead nearly 100,000 precious souls to Christ through our evangelism outreaches in India. The spiritual hunger in this second-most densely populated country on the earth is tremendous!
Give now.
Without a chapel . . . new believers slip away.
We know from experience that evangelism efforts lose ground when new congregations have no church building. Worshipping outdoors, beneath a tarp or under trees is especially discouraging in the rainy season! Those who can afford to rent tiny windowless rooms also see enthusiasm fade. Church members feel embarrassed to bring guests. Attendance dwindles away.
WITH a chapel . . . DOUBLE and TRIPLE harvests!
The construction of a Prayer Chapel turbocharges a congregation! Many of the nearly 500 chapels that we’ve built so far are now filled to capacity. Churches report doubling and even tripling in size within the first three years! Just having a decent place to worship helps motivate new believers to not only attend regularly, but also to invite their neighbors as guests.
KEEP 1,500 new believers AND REACH 35 villages!
Jackie and Bill recently led teams to India, where 1,500 people came to Christ. Now these dozens of new congregations need buildings! Each Prayer Chapel gives up to 200 people a place to worship, and witnesses Christ to an entire village for years to come.
Construction costs are rising. Please respond quickly, while we can still build each chapel for $8,461! Give now.
