Pastor Juan Ruiz warmly welcomed my brother and I at El Salvador International Airport. He proceeded to drive us to the “Asociación Salvadoreña”, in San Salvador, where I received my assignment to preach in the Community Center of the City Hall of Quezaltepeque.

Personal experiences

One night, when the meeting was over, a lady in her early forties approached me and said: “My name is Maria, and I have been attending the meetings every day. Each night I feel re-born again; full of life and happiness. I would like to testify about it from the stage. Would you let me? However, I have a heart problem. Four years ago, I had open heart surgery, and have not felt good lately. I feel an accelerated heart beat inside my chest. I went to the cardiologist, and he said that I will probably need a second open heart surgery. I don’t want another surgery! Could you please pray for me?” We promised that the church and I would be praying for her, and we did.

The next meeting, during my introduction, I presented Maria’s case to the whole auditorium. Since we become a great family in these reunions, I asked them to support and pray for her. Everybody agreed and Maria came up to the platform and expressed her gratitude and happiness. The Lord is good, and God was working in her life. As she learned to trust in the Lord she asked for a new heart and decided to be baptized in the next meeting.

But the enemy tried to put obstacles on her way. As she was coming to be baptized, the bus she was riding on got a flat tire about one mile away from the meeting place. She had to walk, in spite of her heart condition, to get to the meeting place. When she arrived, she was tired but full of happiness. That night she received a new heart from the Lord through the holy baptism.

She still has an appointment with her cardiologist, but she has entrusted the results to the Lord’s hands.

She has also learned to cast all her anxiety upon the Lord, because she realizes He cares about her.

Above all she has the promise of eternal life!

A prodigy in San Salvador

My name is Raquel Sandoval. I was born in El Salvador 10 years ago. Since I was 4 years old, I loved to preach and teach everybody about the woundrous love of God. One night I asked Jesus: “Make your light shine upon me, so many children will know and love you.” When I awakened, I felt I must go out and invite all the kids from my neighborhood to meet each night.

The first night 15 children attended. We started our meeting asking for God’s blessings. Then I taught them how to sing to the Lord and read a couple of pages from the “Beautiful Stories of the Bible.” Everybody was happy.

For the next three months, we continued our meetings and The Holy Spirit touched their tiny hearts.

The children told their parents what they had learned, and something beautiful happened—not only the children, but their parents came to the meetings, eager to listen about God and his wonderful love. A family of six decided to follow Jesus, surrending their lives and joining the church. We continued our blessed meetings.

A new family came to our neighborhood. I met and invited them to our meetings. From that family, three children gave their hearts to Jesus. Something else wonderful happened: their grandma, Maribel, hadn’t been able to walk for two years. She suffered and cried a lot. We prayed for her. At the end of my prayer, I said: “Have faith in God, Maribel and stand up.” She had faith, stood up and started walking little by little. It was a miracle! She decided to be faithful to Jesus.

My friends: Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. It doesn’t matter if we are children, youngsters or elders, just put in your heart the desire to serve The Lord. I challenge everybody: be faithful, fight for Christ and love the Lord. Let’s obey His Holy Word and depart from evil—our enemy, as a lion, is walking around. Jesus Christ will give us strength and power to overcome evil. Blessed be all who read His Word and love The Lord.
