Dear Staff:

The Quiet Hour has sponsored several groups that are currently in El Salvador holding meetings—students from Sahmyook Adventist University in Korea and Southwestern Adventist University (Texas), and a small group of lay speakers from the United States.  The following is a report from Kathy McKey (wife of Elder Duane McKey—President of the Arizona Conference) who is mentoring the groups in El Salvador.

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful group we have here in El Salvador. The Koreans that you are sponsoring, as well as the group from Southwestern Adventist University are great—and they are having wonderful experiences.

At 9:15 p.m. as the speakers are getting back from their meetings, we meet in the cafeteria and have a time of sharing experiences and then pray together. It is a wonderful time. Many are excited about their meeting and it is truly a high time.

Adam Keating, from Southwestern Adventist College, had a bus driver come to his meeting three nights ago. Adam decided to offer a cake to those who brought the most guests. The next night the bus driver brought about 20 guests in his bus and last night there were 41 guests total at his site. The guests keep coming back to his meetings and are telling their friends to come, too. He was really excited!

John Slocumb, 16 years old, who is from the Georgia-Cumberland group that The Quiet Hour is sponsoring, had an incredible experience last night. After he was done with his sermon on the judgment and was packing up his equipment, a young lady came up to him and was crying. She had recently divorced and has three children. This so touched John that his sermon had really touched her heart that during his prayer he had to fight back the tears. The great thing about the Lord using him in such a mighty way is that he really didn't want to preach, but Duane [Elder McKey] persuaded him to do it because some speakers cancelled at the last minute.

God is doing mighty things and we just want to thank The Quiet Hour for their part in sponsoring these students.

God bless,

Kathy McKey
